Once the form has been submitted, follow the remaining steps to complete your admissions file
- Submit UIC’s Graduate Application Online.
- Once on the page, you can either search for the program or select the Master’s Programs link under the program search bar. Select, or search for, Master of Arts in Communication, Digital Media and AI – Online from the list of available programs, along with your chosen concentration. After you have selected Master of Arts in Communication, Digital Media and AI – Online, click on Apply and create a log in.
- Upload an official copy of your academic transcript(s) indicating the earned degree(s)
- Submit a personal statement (600 words maximum):

- Why have you decided to pursue graduate studies in communication?
- What are your professional goals?
- How does UIC’s Master of Arts in Communication, Digital Media and AI degree fit into your short and long-term plans for your professional career?
- You may use the following as an outline for your personal statement:

- Valid English proficiency test scores must be submitted, if required, based on the country or territory in which an applicant previously studied. Refer to the requirements set by UIC’s Office of Admissions.
- Minimum English Competency Test Score
- TOEFL 95, with minimum subscores of Reading 24, Listening 24, Speaking 24, and Writing 22. (iBT Test); 60, with subscores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Writing 21 (Revised Paper-Delivered Test), OR,
- IELTS 7.0, with subscores of 6.5 for all four modules, OR,
- PTE-Academic 54, with subscores of Reading 51, Listening 47, Speaking 53, and Writing 56.

- Letters of Recommendation: Students may be requested to provide 1-2 letters if their qualifications are low.
- A non-refundable application fee of $80.00 upon application submission.
- International applicants pay an additional fee, refer to International Requirements.
For International Applications Only
- An international credential evaluation fee of $100 is assessed to any applicant presenting coursework taken outside the United States. The evaluation fee must be paid after submission of the application. Please refer to the foreign credential guidelines on the International Admission Requirements webpage.
